North of the Smoke Creek Desert area, and along the west side of the Smoke Creek Desert, Waring (1965) reported Buffalo Spring to be warm. The location of this spring is probably in Sec. 18, T31N, R20E, in the vicinity of the old Buffalo Salt Works (see Papke, 1976). A flowing well in Sec. 7 just to the north was 17.5ºC in 1994.
