This spring has not been previously reported on geothermal maps or in Garside and Schilling (1979), but was visited in September 2002. The spring is located in a remote location east of the town of Midas and forms a pool about 3 m across with flow coming out of the bottom of the pool. The flow rate of the spring is about 30 L/min, whereas the measured temperature of the spring is 34°C. The spring fluids must have lost silica in the subsurface because the chalcedony temperature is less than the discharge temperature. Limited geothermal potential is suggested for this area based on the Na-K-Ca geothermometer temperature of 87°C. Mariner and others reported a temperature for this spring, located in SW¼ SW¼ Sec. 1 T39N, R47E, as 35ºC with a reservoir temperature of 37ºC and 69ºC using the silica and Na-K-Ca geothermometers, respectively (1983, p. 98, 105).
