A spring, located in SE¼ SE¼ Section 8, T27N, R25E, has a reported temperature of 28ºC (Garside, 1994). Temperature gradient wells drilled by Phillips Petroleum Co. in the southern part of Kumiva Valley several kilometers to the north, have anomalous gradients, and one well has a reported temperature of 30ºC at 91 m (SMU; Sass and others, 1997; Richards and Blackwell, 2002; GeothermEx, 2004).
