Shipley Hot Springs (Big Shipley, Sadler) (updated 2004)

Springs in Sec. 23, T24N, R42E known as Shipley, Big Shipley, or Sadler Hot Springs have temperatures up to 41°C and issue from alluvium near the bedrock outcrops. The springs are probably supplied by water moving through secondary openings in Paleozoic rocks (Eakin, 1962a). Reported discharges range from 11,000 to 25,550 L/min. The estimated reservoir temperature is 61ºC and 48º using silica and Na-K-CA geothermometers, respectively (Mariner and others, 1983, p. 105).
