Three water wells in Spanish Springs Valley are known to have encountered warm groundwater. A 130-m well in sec. 2, 21N, R20E is reported to have warm water, and two water wells drilled by Washoe County in Sec. 34, T21N, R20E to depths of 189 and 207 m have reported water temperatures of 29°C and 35°C.
