A spring near Silver Springs (NW¼ SE¼ Sec. 17, T18N, R25E) was visited in May 2002 and was found to be a small, evaporating pool. The temperature of the spring was 28.3°C. The location of the spring orifice could not be identified due to low flow, and hence, a sample was not collected. A temperature of 34°C was measured deep in the pool in 1984, although the accuracy of the thermometer is somewhat questionable. The spring owners reported that the spring temperature is the same as an adjacent well, about 32°C. Reportedly, a house about 1.5 km north of the spring (S½ Sec. 8?) has a 71°C water well. This was not confirmed by any on-site investigations.
