We have written here a series of lesson plans that apply the
material presented in the rest of the Science of the
Comstock. The lesson plans are divided into the same
categories as the main site. Generally, the lessons link back
only to the material presented in that specific area. This gives
the teacher the opportunity to develop the connections between
subject areas, but the framework is available within the
material.
For our activities, we tried to use materials generally
available in grocery or hardware stores if not in the teacher
work room.
To make the lessons tie into the curriculum, we reference the National
Science Education Standards, and some lessons also reference
the Nevada State
Science Standards. Because the National Science Education
Standards have been used by many states in the development of the
state standards and curricula, these references should lead
readily into classroom use.
