Analytical Laboratory


 

The Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology (NBMG) Analytical Laboratory offers a wide range of analytical services on geologic and environmental materials. Instrumentation includes Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) with laser ablation, Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS), Ion Chromatography (IC), X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry (XRF), and X-ray Diffraction (XRD). Other services include gold-silver and platinum-group elements (PGE) using classic Fire Assay with either gravimetric or spectroscopic finish, and major and trace element analyses of rocks, soils, sediments, vegetation, and water.  Please follow the links to each instrument for more detailed descriptions.
