Personnel at the NBMG Analytical Laboratory operate a state-of-the-science Micromass Platform ICP-MS. This instrument has a Hexapole collision cell which eliminates many of the interferences present in conventional ICP-MS. The instrument is connected to a CETAC autosampler and a Merchantek UV laser ablation system which allows analyses of solid materials using ICP-MS.
