• Earthquake Awareness Poster Contest
  We e-mailed information to all of the Nevada school superintendents and some specific teachers in Clark County. We asked them to spread the word about the poster contest. We received a total of 79 entries from Carson City and Clark County. See “Poster Winners” on the Nevada Seismological Lab's web site. www.seismo.unr.edu.
  
  
• No progress on the School Earthquake Safety Plan this quarter.
  
  
• The Education Committee received four proposals. We had just over 1 day to review and rank these by e-mail. I would like to make a motion that the Council sets a deadline of at LEAST 2-3 WEEKS prior to the date of the May meeting for proposals to be submitted to the standing committees so that there is time for the committees to actually discuss the proposals that they receive.
