The map shows alluvial deposits of the Humboldt River and adjacent piedmont areas, Quaternary faults bounding the Shoshone and Sheep Creek Ranges, Miocene volcanic rocks of the northern Nevada rift, and highly deformed Paleozoic rocks (Slaven Chert and Valmy Formation).
