State Hazard Mitigation Plan Steering Committee

The State Hazard Mitigation Plan Steering Committee is a committee of volunteers from state and local agencies and the private sector who are helping the Division of Emergency Management and their consultants (Dimensions Unlimited, Inc.) prepare Nevada's hazard mitigation plan. This plan is a requirement of the federal Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 and the Federal Emergency Management Agency's regulations (44 CFR Parts 201 and 206, Hazard Mitigation Planning and Hazard Mitigation Grant Program; reference: Federal Register, February 26, 2002).

This Web site is intended to keep interested individuals, including the general public, appraised of the committee's progress.
